ORIGINAL EAST SIDE STOMPERS

Roger Graham (basses), Len Hodgson (trombone/washboard/vocals), Graham Collicott (drums and things), John Sheppard (trumpet), Ronnie Findon (clarinet/saxes/vocals) and Brian Lawrence (banjo/vocals).

The band was formed in the early sixties and trombonist and titular head, Len, joined in 1968. Now 86 years old he is still blowing a mean ‘tailgate’ trombone, scrubbing on his little washboard and singing lovely, ol’ lovely songs.

The current line-up has been together for about a year now and gets better and better. It combines a variety of hot, swinging and dynamic jazz styles and is known for its humorous approach to its music and presentation and the virtuoso performances of its members.
